MONDRIAN SESSIONS PRESENTED BY IAMSOUND RECORDS ANNOUNCES NEW FALL LINE-UP
In light of its successful run this summer, MONDRIAN LOS ANGELES and IAMSOUND Records have announced a new fall line-up of summer musical performances dedicated to creating a unique live-music experience for both hotel guests and locals alike. Mondrian Sessions will continue to host some of the most talked about new names on the music circuit including Little Boots, SBTRKT and NewVillager.
On Friday, September 23, Little Boots, who has been hard at work in the studio working on her new album, will be leaving her imprint at Skybar with an acoustic performance. English synth-pop singer Victoria Hesketh’s sweet vocals and catchy melodic hooks drift over fun dance beats, explaining why the Gobi tent was packed during her performance at Coachella last year.
Following on the heels of Little Boots are the Brooklyn-based visual artists and musicians, NewVillager, whose performances have been described as “Mad Max meets Mozart.” On Thursday, October 20, Ross Simonini and Ben Bromley will effortlessly combine progressive rock sounds with old-fashioned funk soul melodies for the crowd at Skybar.
Next on the list is SBTRKT for his first performance in Los Angeles on Monday, October 24. Aaron Jerome will captivate listeners with a mix of chill-out, dubstep and trip-hop styles. While he hides behind a tribal mask, the audience shouldn’t expect SBTRKT to hold back on representing the best production that the UK has to offer. SBTRKT will also be performing at Hard Haunted House four days later.
More shows to be announced. Watch out for the November and December line-up.
"Millions of sales, near bankruptcy, pills, thrills, spats, twats, success, excess, pick me ups, breakdowns and of course some of THE defining music of the late twentieth century, this is the definitive and fully authorised story of the UK's most inspired and dissolute label."
PANic has the great honor of screening the exclusive west coast premiere of Upside Down, The Creation Records Story at the Mondrian in LA on June 26th and at the Clift in SF the following evening. There will be a special acoustic performance by Mark Gardener of Ride and a Q&A with the director, Danny O'Connor. Both events are free with RSVP.

"Canadian producer and songwriter Gonzales, who's currently working with Feist on her new album, draws unexpected guests to his Sunset Strip show.
Singer Feist made a surprise appearance at Sky Bar on the Sunset Strip on Saturday, March 12, performing a cover of Tweet's 2002 hit "Oops (Oh My)" for the encore to Gonzales' Mondrian Sessions show. Then, plunging into the hotel's pool with electro-rocker Peaches at her side, the two baptized each other to the cheers of awestruck guests and shutterbugs.
Gonzales, who also goes by Chilly Gonzales, regularly collaborates with Feist and the two are currently working on her much-anticipated new album, her first since 2007's Grammy-nominated The Reminder. According to a source, Feist had been recording in a house in Big Sur, but she and Gonzales have since moved the production the Los Angeles.
It was always the plan for a special guest to appear as part of Gonzales' poolside show, but Peaches made an unexpected cameo mid-set serenading Feist with Tina Turner's "Private Dancer," as she just happened to be staying in the hotel. Says one onlooker: "[Peaches] has a good singing voice!"
For the encore, Feist removed her shoes as she launched into "Oops (Oh My)," which originally featured Missy Elliott, and slowly made her way into the Sky Bar pool while holding hands with Peaches. The Canadians proceeded to take turns dipping each other into the water -- Peaches baptized Feist first -- and once fully cleansed, the two ran out of the pool and back to their rooms, according to an attendee. Check out video below."

Bay area rap enthusiasts received a real treat this past weekend when they witnessed rising rapper Theophilus London perform at the Clift Hotel.
IAMSOUND Records' very own MEN, played at the Clift on the evening of the release of their debut album, Talk About Body. MEN is the new project from LE TIGRE’s JD Samson, cult icon and leader in the LGBT community.
MEN focus on the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. Their music speaks of issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and the demand for liberties through lyrical content and an inventive, high-energy stage show.
